Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes Man Utd summer transfer decision due to Eric Bailly

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ‘reluctant’ to focus on too many potential new centre-backs with the Norwegian determined to persist with Eric Bailly.

United have been regularly linked with a summer transfer for a centre-back to partner Harry Maguire.

Victor Lindelof was Maguire’s regular partner this season with Bailly having struggled with injuries.

Though Solskjaer opted for Bailly for the Europa League quarter-final with Copenhagen earlier this week with the Ivorian impressing with some strong tackles and blocks.

And the Evening Standard report that Solskjaer is keen to keep going with Bailly and will not look to far down the list of new centre-back options drawn up.

Bailly recently praised Solskjaer, believing the former striker is the perfect manager for the Red Devils.

"He's someone that will always talk to you," Bailly told ESPN.

"He always communicates well. He gives you so much confidence because as a footballer, you go through moments where you feel low and he can read that and when he sees that he immediately comes over to you and talks to you.

"He offers advice so that you can regain confidence and for me, that's so important because we have a very young team and if we have a coach or manager like that then the team will go from strength to strength.

“Here, people really live for football. Their passion for the game is enormous so for me, being here, I realise that we need to always give our best.
