Paul Pogba and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer snaps show clues over Man Utd relationship

Paul Pogba and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s endearing moment after Manchester United’s 2-0 win away Everton seemed to indicate there is no friction between the pair, despite Mino Raiola’s controversial comments earlier this month.

Outspoken super-agent Raiola made headlines at the start of December by insisting Pogba’s time as a United player is coming to an end, which did not go down well with Solskjaer.

The United boss hit out at Raiola in the aftermath of their 3-2 defeat away at RB Leipzig on December 8, urging him to realise hat football is about teams rather than individuals.

Yet, instead of punishing Pogba for his agent’s damning remarks, Solskjaer has started the midfielder in three out of four possible games since.

His latest appearance came in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup quarter-final win at Everton, where he impressed as United booked their place in the last four of the competition.

And at the full-time whistle, a moment between Pogba and Solskjaer spoke volumes about the pair’s relationship.

Solskjaer could be seen on TV winking at the France international, whose nod back at his manager in response shows they are both turning a blind eye to Raiola’s meddling and widespread transfer speculation.

The Norwegian’s comments about Pogba before the match also told United fans all they need to know.

“Paul has been here for a while,” Solskjaer told ESPN. “And of course he wants to win more trophies.

“He's got a very, very good attitude to the training and his football. He loves football and he's ambitious.

“He wants to have success like most of the others that are in the squad.”
