Petr Cech driving move for Kepa Arrizabalaga's replacement

Petr Cech is playing a key role in the hunt for Kepa Arrizabalaga’s replacement, reports claim, and is attempting to convince Marc-Andre ter Stegen to join the club.

The Chelsea legend, who won four Premier League titles, the Champions League, Europa League, four FA Cups and four League Cups during his spell at Stamford Bridge, was a key figure for the Blues between the sticks.

And his goalkeeping expertise will be put to the test as he seeks a replacement for Chelsea flop Kepa.

Manager Frank Lampard has grown frustrated by the £71.6million goalkeeper and dropped him for the final two games of the season.

Many believe he has no future at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea bosses actively searching for fresh goalkeeping talent.

According to ESPN, one of the players being considered is Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen.

Both Chelsea and Inter Milan have shown an interest in landing the Germany international, although Barcelona are hopeful he will reject their advances and sign a new deal.

Cech is playing a key role in transfers, having been appointed to the role of technical and performance advisor last summer.

He played a big part in convincing Timo Werner to move to Stamford Bridge and he is working to persuade Ter Stegen that a switch to the Premier League would be beneficial to him.

He views Ter Stegen as both an outstanding goalkeeper and a leader, who would be a valuable asset to Chelsea.

Inter hope he will replace long-term goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, now 37, who is coming to the end of his career.
