The Premier League have made emergency change to their fixture schedule that has altered the immediate plans of Tottenham, Fulham, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Spurs who were due to take on Villa on Wednesday, will now be coming up against Scott Parker’s men in a clash that was postponed from earlier in the month.

That fixture was one of two that was pushed back for the west Londoners, and they have been ordered to fulfil it with just two days notice following a outbreak in Dean Smith’s squad.

In addition, their clash against Chelsea has been pushed back from Friday to Saturday.

The Athletic add that Fulham are not happy with facing Spurs at such short notice because they had not been preparing for a midweek game.

Villa are the latest team to be effected by a string of positive tests, which forced the club to field a squad made up of teenagers to take on Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Despite their impressive performance, there is said to be concerns over fairness and integrity after previous outbreaks lead to the postponement of matches in the league this season.

Jose Mourinho said when asked if he thought the game against Villa would go ahead on Sunday: “Yeah.

“Nobody told me that I'm not going to play.

"Tomorrow morning we start to prepare for that game, and the same Tuesday unless somebody tells us different.”
