Man City: Could signing Messi get Aguero to stay?
Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly eyeing a swoop for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero at the end of the season. Aguero is out of contract with City in the summer and could discuss a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club like PSG.
While speaking on Canal+, agent Bruno Satin claimed that Pochettino had made Aguero the club’s ‘transfer priority’.
The 32-year-old could be the latest superstar forward to join PSG, with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi already at the club.
According to the Athletic, City are yet to approach Aguero to hold talks about a new deal but the player is said to be keen to stay.
Back in October, City boss Pep Guardiola was asked about Aguero’s future at the club and replied: “The important thing is that Sergio comes back in good physical condition, starts to get his rhythm, doesn’t get more injuries and plays good.

“We know what he means for us, we know how we appreciate him, but now he has to show like everyone of us, me first, that we deserve to continue here and playing good and winning games.
“After that, the club and myself of course decide, but when he is playing in his level and we don’t have any doubts he is a player to stay until he decides [to go] because he unique, the numbers, he is important for us, the fans and for everyone.
“Having Sergio on the pitch, we are better, we are safer.
“We missed him a lot in important moments in the later part of the season.

“Now it is good news for us today that he is back.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Richards said: “His intention has always been to finish his career back in Argentina but I expect now Pep Guardiola has signed a contract extension that Sergio will do the same.
“Whether it is for 12 months or two years, it is a piece of business I hope City conclude.
“City will sign another striker in the future, and hopes are high for Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres, but there is nobody like Sergio.
“There will never be another one like him at Manchester City and there haven’t been many better in the Premier League.”
Aguero has struggled with injury problems this season, with his fitness woes limiting the striker to just nine appearances in all competitions so far.
However, Aguero could start in City’s upcoming FA Cup clash with Birmingham City on Sunday, with Guardiola revealing: “If he is good in these next days, he will start”.
