Raphael Varane was watching closely as his new Manchester United team mates ran riot in their final pre-season friendly against Everton at Old Trafford. The Frenchman posted a snap of him feeding his baby while tuning into the action on his Instagram story as he continues his period of isolation.

What a game is was to keep tabs on too, as United laid down a marker ahead of the new season.

The Red Devils were 3-0 up within 30 minutes thanks to goals from Mason Greenwood, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.

It was Greenwood who opened the scoring following a gift from Jordan Pickford on his return to club action.

Maguire then headed in a second past his England team mate for the hosts before Fernandes scored the goal of the afternoon.

The Portuguese playmaker fired home a free-kick from 25-yards into the top corner to send Old Trafford bezerk.

Varane was clearly enjoying the occasion and his new subscription to MUFC TV.

The Real Madrid centre-back, who is on course to complete a £34million move to Man United in the coming days, arrived in Manchester earlier this week.

Visa problems had previously delayed his flight to England, which was initially planned several days before.

But Varane then received the green light to travel to England, where he will put the finishing touches on his move to last season’s Premier League runners up.

He now just has a few days left of isolation left to complete before he finalises his move.

There is optimism Varane could be available to face Leeds in the Premier League opener this time next week.
