Rare Lego replica iconic Real Madrid stadium set slashed in Black Friday offer

One of the world's most iconic football stadiums is for sale – but not in the way you might think.

The Santiago Bernabeu stadium is home to the world's most famous football club, Real Madrid.

And as part of Lego's Icons series, a 5,876-piece replica set was created, but it is extremely hard to get hold of.

With new stock available online, the Lego company has decided to slash the price by a whopping 20%, and you get a free gift with it for Black Friday.

Normally price at the eye-watering £344.99, the impressive piece is now down to just £275.99.

And as it's over £170, Lego will throw in a Christmassy Winter Elves Scene kit which only actually costs the low price of £17.99 normally.

That kit contains 372 pieces and features two elves causing havoc with a squirrel on Christmas.

The Bernabeu kit will actually be outdated in a few months, due to a massive multi-million-pound renovation of the real-life stadium taking place.

The ageing stadium was first opened in in1947, costing just £1.5 million at the time.

The extension and renovation project, however, is costing an eye-watering £500 million, and will add around 4,000 seats to the already 81,000 capacity.

It will have an extra 10 metres added to the top layer of it, alongside a new retractable roof and pitch.

It will also no longer be called the Santiago Bernabeu, either, as the club is rumoured to be looking at selling the iconic naming rights of the ground – which would make the lego kit even more valuable as a piece of footballing history, too.

The only time the 14-time Champions League winning club didn't play at the stadium was during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The club played at the slammed Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium for the entire 2020/2021 season, due to the pitch at its main ground been deemed unplayable.

That ground is located next door, and is the home of the club's reserve side, Real Madrid Castilla.
