Marco Asensio stole the show with a brilliant hat trick for Real Madrid as they thrashed Mallorca 6-1 to go top of the table.

Karim Benzema also starred as his brace puts him on eight league goals after just six league games.

Isco added a late sixth as Real Madrid now top the table by 2 points to Atletico Madrid with great rivals Barcelona already eight points off the pace.

Asensio’s goals come after reports that he felt ‘provoked’ by manager Carlo Ancelotti due to his lack of game time so far this season.
