Sky Sports ‘chaos’ as Kelly Cates struggles to keep hold of Keane and Neville

Ice cool Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates had to play peace maker after Gary Neville and Roy Keane got into another heated debate.

The former Manchester United duo had just watched their former side lose 3-2 to Arsenal in an unforgettable game at the Emirates Stadium. Keane was furious with the Red Devils’ performance, particularly the way in which their first goal was conceded.

As per usual, Neville and Keane enjoyed a bit of verbal jousting during their analysis of the clash at the Emirates Stadium. However, with the seconds ticking down until the end of the coverage, the pair began to bicker like an old married couple again.

At the time, Cates was promoting Sky Sports’ NFL action that was coming up later in the evening. The Cincinnati Bengals were about to kick off against the Buffalo Bills, with the Dallas Cowboys’ clash against the San Francisco 49ers taking place later on in the evening.

However, she had to promote the American Football over the top of Keane and Neville’s next debate. Unbelievably, in what must have been a first on Sky Sports television, the pair were actually arguing about the upcoming NFL matches.

Neville pointed at the Irishman and repeated, “he loves this game, he loves this game”, in a nod to another former Red Patrice Evra, while Keane tried to avoid eye contact with Neville.

Neville then added, “I don’t get it personally,” suggesting he is not a fan of American Football. While Cates tried to regain order in the studio, you could faintly hear Keane laugh ‘49ers all the way’.

It is currently unknown whether Keane tunes into the NFL on a regular basis. Considering the rock solid, and often, scarily high tackles he used to administer on the pitch, it would make sense for the Irishman to indulge in the smashing and crashing of American Football.

Whether he tunes in or not, we will likely never see Keane and Neville talk about American Football, even if they were doing so in gest, again. Considering Keane’s furious rant about United’s title credentials at the end of the game, there would be little surprise if he would have rather watched the NFL instead of their loss to Arsenal.
