Manchester United’s January signing Amad may have only been in the country a matter of weeks, but the noises coming out of the club are that they may have got a good one. Signed from Atalanta in a deal that could reach £37million, United fans obviously have high hopes for the winger.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has pleaded for patience with the 18-year-old, previously claiming it will take time for him to adapt to English football.
But that adapatation period, albeit in under-23s football has been rapid. Registering six goal involvements in just two games.
That form meant Solskjaer had little choice but to place Amad in his mitchday squad in the Europa League last-32 against Real Sociedad, before bringing him on for his debut.
It was only a brief, 12-minute cameo, but supporters were left suitably excited with the youngster’s willingness to run at defenders with the ball at his feet.

Last month, Solskjaer admitted that those performances were also translating to training, with Amad making an instant impact in sessions at Carrington.
And it’s not just being spotted by coaches after first-team full back Luke Shaw heaped praise on the youngster, speaking of his excitement at his style of play.
“He’s still so young but he’s come into training and you can tell he’s got confidence,” Shaw told Sky Sports.
“You can tell by the way he plays, his first touch is brilliant, the way he takes the ball and drives at players. He’s got great skill.

“Of course, like I said, very and got a long way to go. But you can tell already he’s going to be one for the future and I’m sure he’s not far away from getting a first team appearance.
“He’s a wonderful talent and already a wonderful player so I’m sure fans are looking forward to seeing him on the pitch.”
Asked to compare him to another player, Shaw offered a fascinating insight into how Amad is being perceived by United skipper Harry Maguire.
“It was interesting because Harry said to me the other day that he reminds him of [Riyad] Mahrez when he was at Leicester,” Shaw added.
“ Really quick, skilful, agility, can turn really quick, got great skills and I would agree with Harry – he does remind me of Mahrez.
“Even the way Mahrez plays now I’ve seen the qualities that Amad already has and has shown in training.
“Mahrez is a wonderful player so hopefully if he’s any good like him it would be great for United.”
Solskjaer is set to make the decision on whether to hand Amad a full debut next week against Sociedad.
“We’ll decide that after Newcastle,” the United manager said. “He’s had a couple of games in the reserves. We’ll take it lightly.
“There’s still a few players that were on the bench tonight that will want to start of course, but Amad is getting closer. We’ll see how much game time he’ll get.”
But if his performances in training are anything to go by, Solskjaer’s decision making process could be sped up by his players.
