Tottenham fans have reacted with fury to Arne Slot’s decision to stay at Feyenoord next season, labelling the latest setback in their pursuit of a manager as ’embarrassing’.
Spurs had held exploratory talks over a move to bring Slot to the Premier League next season.
The 44-year-old, who led Feyernoord to the Eredivise title this season, held talks over his future with the Dutch giants on Wednesday.

Supporters have reacted furiously to the latest blow in Tottenham’s search for a new manager
Nuno Espirito Santo was eventually appointed as manager after a chaotic 72-search after talks with several targets collapsed.
‘Oh FFS. This is just embarrassing now,’ one fan fumed. ‘Somewhere Nuno’s dusting off his training kit.’
‘Arne Slot, Julian Naglesmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, Vincent Kompany. Does anyone want to manage Spurs and work with Levy? I certainly wouldn’t,’ another wrote.
Spurs fans have also expressed fears that the latest setback could lead to the club turning to Brendan Rodgers.
The 50-year-old is currently out of work after being sacked by Leicester in April.
‘The season ticket deadline is rapidly approaching and I swear to god if I splash nearly a grand to watch Brendan Rodgers manage Tottenham I will fully lose my head,’ a fan wrote on social media.
‘Following the Slot news, what else to we do but laugh? Levy and co have dragged the club through the mud so many times that no self respecting coach will touch us’ another said.
‘They may as well just get on with appointing Rodgers so we can be laughed at again.’

‘Makes sense. Levy was never paying Feyenoord compensation price or give Slot control over transfers. It was all to sell season tickets. He does it all the time,’ a fan claimed.
‘Club is a shambes. No plan or direction. I feat it’s Potter or Rodgers time.’
Spurs have now gone 60 days without a permanent manager after Antonio Conte left the club at the end of March.
The north London club look set to miss out on European football, after slipping to eighth in the Premier League ahead of their final match of the season against Leeds.
Mail Sport reported earlier this month that Spurs have no plans to appoint Julian Nagelsmann, while Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim was identified as a potential option last month and is likely to remain on Levy’s shortlist.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso was also named as a target before insisting he has no intention of departing the German club this summer. While Vincent Kompany, another interest of Levy’s, recently penned a new five-year contract with Burnley after guiding them to Premier League promotion.
