Los Blancos have been linked with a move for the Denmark international for some time and now look to be making their move.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been keen on signing Ceballos previously – but only in a straight-cash deal.
Ceballos is finding life tough at Real Madrid and has told boss Zinedine Zidane that he wants to leave due to a lack of game time.
And, according to The Sun, Real are hoping to use the 22-year-old as a makeweight to sign Eriksen.
“I feel that I am at a place in my career where I might want to try something new,” he said recently.
Plus, when you consider that the Dane only has one year left on his contract, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may feel it is time to cash in on the star before the risk of losing him for free develops.
Spurs have already been linked to several midfielders who could replace Eriksen and will now have to consider whether Ceballos fits the bill.
The club have also been linked with Leicester’s James Maddison, Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and Giovani Lo Celso of Real Betis.
The midfielder is currently on international duty with Spain at the Euro Under-21 Championship.
And he scored his country’s goal in Sunday’s 3-1 defeat by Italy.
It remains to be seen what Spurs do should the bid for Eriksen come in from Real Madrid.
