West Ham ‘set to re-ignite interest in £35m-rated Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri this summer’ despite last month’s rejected bid, with David Moyes still keen on signing new striker

  • Sevilla ace Youssef En-Nesyri has been linked with a summer move to West Ham
  • The 23-year-old was the subject of a rejected £22m bid from the club last month
  • Reports claim Hammers are expected to re-ignite their interest
  • En-Nesyri has scored 16 goals in 30 appearances for Sevilla so far this season

West Ham are set to re-ignite their interest in Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri this summer, according to reports.

The 23-year-old, valued at around £35million, was the subject of an offer from the Premier League club last month – although the bid was quickly rebuffed.

The Daily Star have now claimed that West Ham will return at the end of the season with boss David Moyes still keen to sign a new frontman.

En-Nesyri has scored 16 goals in 30 games this season and clearly caught the eye of the hierarchy at the London Stadium.

Sportsmail understands West Ham’s initial advances centred around a £22m bid and that they were unwilling to improve on the offer.

The Morocco international joined Sevilla for £18m from Leganes just over 12 months ago, having signed a five-and-a-half-year deal.

The length of his terms did not put West Ham off in their pursuit, however, and the latest reports indicate they will lodge another bid in just a matter of months.

En-Nesyri, 23, remains valued at £35m after West Ham’s £22m offer in January was rejected

Sebastien Haller’s departure to Ajax left Michail Antonio as one of the club’s limited options in attack, until the arrival of Jesse Lingard from Manchester United on loan.

It has been suggested that En-Nesyri was unwilling to leave Sevilla during the middle of the campaign – but may be open to a move away in the next window.

Sevilla are likely to stick to their £35m valuation of the ace, though, and it is uncertain whether West Ham would be willing to match that this time around.

En-Nesyri progressed through the youth ranks at Malaga before leaving for Leganes in the summer of 2018.

He caught the eye after netting a hat-trick against Real Sociedad earlier this year – and also scored four goals during the Champions League group stage.
