Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto’s agent Claudio Vigorelli has accused the club of blocking the Italian from joining a Premier League club this summer.

Gnonto, 19, has been the subject of several bids from Everton so far this summer, with the Toffees seeing every offer knocked back by Leeds, who are eager to keep hold of the Italian in a bid to return to the top flight at the first time of asking.

The Italy international has also handed in a transfer request to force through a move before the September 1 deadline, but Leeds are standing firm and have rejected bids in the region of £25million.

In a radio interview – via Leeds Live – Gnonto’s agent Vigorelli accused Leeds of blocking requests from clubs interested in signing the striker.

He said: “The situation is complicated. Leeds are blocking the requests we have in the Premier League.”

Vigorelli also ruled out a possible return to Inter Milan, where Gnonto had spent time in their academy before launching his senior career in Switzerland with FC Zurich.

Amid Gnonto’s wish to leave the club, he was left out of Leeds’ Championship game against West Brom, seeing fans reveal a flag mocking Gnonto by putting his head on a baby, with the caption: “"Waaaah waaaah I not wanna play in the Championship."

Speaking before Leeds’ 1-1 draw against the Baggies, boss Daniel Farke revealed Gnonto had been “training separated from the group" – alongside Luis Sinisterra and Helder Costa – who have both been touted to leave Elland Road and were omitted from the squad to play the Baggies.

Farke said: “"I think with Willy – we've spoken about each and everything so, what I can say and I think it's also important to say this, in an open and honest way, that at the moment, Helder Costa, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra are training separated from the group.

"They have individual training in order to stay fit and to be prepared. They were also moved out of the dressing room, for different reasons. We spoke at length about the situation with Willy."

But the 19-year-old returned back to first-team training on Tuesday (August 22) following talks with Farke and chief executive Angus Kinnear.

Although it’s unclear whether Gnonto will be involved in the squad that travel to face Ipswich Town in the Championship on Saturday (August 26).
