{"id":287876,"date":"2023-08-26T10:21:48","date_gmt":"2023-08-26T10:21:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=287876"},"modified":"2023-08-26T10:21:48","modified_gmt":"2023-08-26T10:21:48","slug":"spanish-fa-strongly-defends-president-luis-rubiales-in-fresh-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/soccer\/spanish-fa-strongly-defends-president-luis-rubiales-in-fresh-statement\/","title":{"rendered":"Spanish FA strongly defends president Luis Rubiales in fresh statement"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Luis Rubiales: Spanish FA threaten legal action as they accuse Jenni Hermoso of &#8216;LIES&#8217; after she insisted she did NOT consent to kiss from under-fire president after World Cup final<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Spanish FA has issued a strong defence of president Luis Rubiales\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The body tries to show Hermoso&#8217;s complicity in the moments before the kiss\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Legal action is threatened as the FA claims that &#8216;lies&#8217; have been spread\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The embattled Spanish FA (RFEF) has threatened legal action after accusing Jenni Hermoso of &#8216;lies&#8217; following her insistence that she did not consent to being kissed by president Luis Rubiales.<\/p>\n<p>In an extraordinary statement late on Friday night, the crisis-ridden organisation continued their staunch backing of Rubiales after he kissed Hermoso on the mouth after Spain&#8217;s World Cup final victory over England on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Hermoso, 33, said through the FUTPRO union that she\u00a0&#8216;felt vulnerable and a victim of an impulse-driven, sexist, out of place act\u00a0without any consent on my part&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It came after Rubiales had claimed he asked permission to kiss Hermoso, who was said to have responded to say he could give her &#8216;a little peck&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I want to clarify that, as seen in the images, at no time did I consent to the kiss he gave me and of course in no case did I seek to raise the president. I do not tolerate that my word is questioned, much less that words are invented that I have not said,&#8217; Hermoso said.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the RFEF claimed Rubiales &#8211; who dramatically refused to resign from his position on Friday &#8211; acted with &#8216;utmost respect&#8217; and says that &#8216;lies have been spread about him&#8217; from Hermoso&#8217;s camp.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of photographs preceding his kiss on Hermoso&#8217;s mouth is given in an attempt to absolve Rubiales from blame and to demonstrate her responsibility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Hermoso wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that she and a statement was released on her behalf was released by FUTRPO, the Spanish players&#8217; union.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A total of 56 players signed the statement, and all of them have refused to play for the national team until Rubiales is removed from his position.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Rubiales issued a defiant defence of his position and\u00a0refused to step down from his post. FIFA has launched a disciplinary investigation\u00a0and the Spanish government has started legal proceedings to have the 46-year-old suspended.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/09\/74725291-12447755-image-a-11_1693039052614.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Spanish FA has released an extraordinary defence of Luis Rubiales, attempting to explain Jenni Hermoso&#8217;s complicity in the moments leading up to the kiss<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/09\/74531091-12447755-Luis_Rubiales_president_of_the_Spanish_FA_kissed_Jenni_Hermoso_o-a-10_1693039043069.jpg\" height=\"603\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Rubiales, president of the Spanish FA, kissed Hermoso on the mouth after the World Cup final<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/10\/74747015-12447755-image-a-26_1693043655182.jpg\" height=\"850\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>England&#8217;s Lionesses condemned the &#8216;unacceptabled actions&#8217; of Rubiales and called the Spanish FA &#8216;sexist and patriarchal&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>England&#8217;s Lionesses also released a statement condemning Rubiales, saying: &#8216;Unacceptable actions allowed to happen by a sexist and patriarchal organisation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Abuse is abuse and we have all seen the truth. The behaviour of those who think they are invincible must not be tolerated and people shouldn&#8217;t take any convincing to take action against any form of harassment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We stand with you, Jenni Hermoso.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, the RFEF affirm that &#8216;the facts exposed by Mr. President are absolutely true&#8217; and that he is &#8216;not lying&#8217;. They claim to have contacted Hermoso multiple times without success.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stars of women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s football took to Twitter to voice their disgust\u00a0at the situation, with Spain&#8217;s Alexis Putellas tweeting &#8216;This is unacceptable. It&#8217;s over. With you partner @jennihermoso&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Borja Iglesias, a striker in the men&#8217;s team, has refused to play for his country until Rubiales is gone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here is the RFEF&#8217;s breakdown of several photographs of the incident. It should be noted that none of the photographs included show the kiss itself, but merely the moments preceding it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>The RFEF&#8217;s photo-by-photo breakdown\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p><span>Photograph 1<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/10\/74745701-12447755-image-a-22_1693042300350.jpg\" height=\"384\" width=\"586\"><\/p>\n<p>The RFEF argue that Rubiales&#8217; arms are only loosely on Hermoso&#8217;s back in this photo, meaning he could &#8216;exert no force&#8217;, and that his heels are raised<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span>The above image shows Rubiales smiling as he embraces Hermoso, with one hand on top of her head and the other on her back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In explanation, the RFEF states: &#8216;Ms. Jennifer Hermoso, with her arms, grabs the RFEF President from behind, while Mr. President has his arms loose on the upper part of the player&#8217;s back.\u00a0Therefore, no force could exert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You can see how Mr. President has the heels of his feet raised slightly.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0Photograph 2<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/10\/74745761-12447755-image-a-23_1693042342342.jpg\" height=\"387\" width=\"586\"><\/p>\n<p>Here, the RFEF maintains that Hermoso keeps her arms around the president and that his heels are raised. Only one of Hermoso&#8217;s arms and one of Rubiales&#8217; feet are visible<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span>In the second image, Rubiales&#8217; upper arm has moved lower down Hermoso&#8217;s head.<\/p>\n<p>The RFEF explains: &#8216;Ms. Jennifer Hermoso keeps her arms around Mr. President&#8217;s back. Mr. President keeps his arms on top of the player&#8217;s body.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It is verified how Mr. President already has much higher heels.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Only one of Rubiales&#8217; feet is visible in the photo.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0Photograph 3<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/10\/74745901-12447755-image-a-24_1693042441201.jpg\" height=\"391\" width=\"586\"><\/p>\n<p>The RFEF writes that &#8216;Mr. President&#8217;s feet are clearly and manifestly lifted off the ground as a result of the action of force carried out by the player&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span>This third image, with Rubiales lifted off the ground, is where the RFEF&#8217;s statement ramps up in vehemence and attributes responsibility to Hermoso.<\/p>\n<p>The RFEF states: &#8216;Mrs. Jennifer Hermoso continues to keep her arms in the same position as the president&#8217;s body while the president must bring his arms closer to the player&#8217;s back as a result of having lifted him off the ground and to maintain balance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The inclination of the back of Mrs. Jennifer Hermoso that occurs when she is performing an action of force is indisputable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Mr. President&#8217;s feet are clearly and manifestly lifted off the ground as a result of the action of force carried out by the player.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0Photograph 4<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/26\/10\/74745929-12447755-image-a-25_1693042492244.jpg\" height=\"383\" width=\"586\"><\/p>\n<p>The RFEF maintains its stance in the final photo, where Rubiales is still lifted off the ground<\/p>\n<p>For this final photo provided, the RFEF explains: &#8216;Mrs. Jennifer Hermoso continues to keep her arms in the same position as the president&#8217;s body while the president must continue to hold on to the players so as not to fall and it is evident that the arching of the player&#8217;s body corresponds to the lifting force of Mr. President you are performing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The feet of Mr. President are ostensibly raised off the ground as a result of the player&#8217;s action.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>Following their analysis of the photos, the RFEF concludes: &#8216;The evidence is conclusive. Mr. President has not lied.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The RFEF and Mr. President will demonstrate each of the lies that are spread either by someone on behalf of the player or, if applicable, by the player herself.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>While one could conclude from the photos that Hermoso lifts Rubiales &#8211;
