Christian Eriksen says it is great to have another Danish player in the squad in the form of Rasmus Hojlund but has told his new team-mate that he will have to get up to speed with Premier league football quickly.

Hojlund, 20, moved to Old Trafford from Serie A side Atalanta in July for a £72million fee – £64m plus £8m of add-ons.

He is yet to make his debut due to a back problem but has joined full first team training and there is talk it could come against Arsenal on Sunday.

Both he and Eriksen play for the Denmark national team and the latter had plenty of positive things to say about his compatriot.

‘He’s a guy who holds his ground,’ began Christian, speaking to United Review recently.

Rasmus Hojlund is yet to make his debut for his new club following his big money move

‘He doesn’t back down from anything. He’s really a front-foot guy, who is aggressive and really attack-minded. But, at the same time, a nice guy outside of football.’

Yeah, I definitely will [pass that experience on] but he will definitely see it for himself,’ added Eriksen.

‘The Premier League is different compared to any other league he’s been at before.

‘So he’s going to have to adapt. But I’m sure he will adapt quickly.’

With two Danish representatives now part of the make-up of Ten Hag’s squad, Eriksen also insists it’s something that has been well received back in his homeland.

‘I know it’s been a massive, massive thing and still is,’ said the 31-year-old.

‘Obviously, it’s going to explode even more when he is going to have his debut.

‘I’m happy there’s another Dane at United who can show off the Danish flag.’
