Aaron Rodgers showed his feisty side after being shoved late during a play in the preseason game between the New York Jets and the New York Giants.

As captured on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’, Rodgers dropped back to pass – completing his attempt to receiver Mecole Hardman – but far after the play ended, Giants eight-year veteran Jihad Ward kept rushing the quarterback and gave him a light shove.

Rodgers took exception to that, shoving Ward back before the two players got face-to-face in front of a referee.

‘That’s f***in bulls**t, bro. What the f**k is that,’ Rodgers said to Ward. ‘Show some respect, bro what f**k is that five damn steps?’

As Ward chirped right back at him, Rodgers said, ‘I don’t even know who you are, bro.’ Ward retorted with the same remark before the pair eventually separated.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers took exception to this late shove from Giants’ LB Jihad Ward

The pair started chirping at each other before Rodgers said ‘I don’t even know who you are’

That drive, Rodgers completed a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson – leading to more barbs

The very next play, Rodgers targeted receiver Garrett Wilson in the end zone – which the second-year wideout caught for a touchdown.

Once again, Ward shoved Rodgers late on the play – which led the 39-year-old quarterback to pause celebrating with his teammates to remind the linebacker ‘don’t poke the bear’ before reminding the second-year Giant that he’s never heard of him.

On the sidelines, Rodgers recounted the incident to his teammates – calling his cutting remarks ‘un-comeback-with-able’.

‘I said “I don’t know who you are”,’ Rodgers recalled. ‘But he said “I don’t know who you are”. I said “bulls**t.”‘

While Rodgers is certainly a big enough name – plus a four-time MVP and a Super Bowl champion – that Ward’s claim should seem wrong, the two have also played against each other before.

Last season, Ward recorded a tackle for a loss in the Giants’ 27-22 win over the Packers in Week 6. Rodgers went 25-39 for 222 yards and two touchdowns that game.

It was the final preseason game for both the Jets and the Giants as the two teams prepare for the regular season.

Both teams are expected to at least fight for the playoffs – with Rodgers hoping to make a good impression as he plays in New York for the first time.
