Ricky Hatton says Floyd Mayweather Jr was a \u201cd***head\u201d for bragging about money.<\/p>\n
The Hitman, 44, was constantly goaded by the \u2018Moneyman\u2019 ahead of their fight in Las Vegas in December 2007, which ended in devastating defeat for the British boxing hero. In the new \u2018Hatton\u2019 documentary on his rise and fall, he said: \u201cIt was really, really tough to put up with that d***head. He\u2019d go, \u2018Look, I\u2019ve got a big pinkie ring \u2013 $250,000. And I\u2019d go, \u2018You\u2019re a d**k though.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then he\u2019d go, \u2018Look at my wristwatch, I\u2019ve got $300,000 on my wrist here\u2019. And I\u2019d go, \u2018Yeah, but you\u2019re a d***.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
During the press conferences between Hatton and the American, the Mancunian scrapper once stuck on a huge pair of builder\u2019s earphones to block out Mayweather, who branded his rival a \u201cp***y\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hatton finally lost his composure with Mayweather during the weigh-in face-off before their clash by making a throat-slashing gesture.<\/p>\n
Mayweather went on to dominate Hatton, stopping his welterweight foe in the 10th round. And despite animosity between the pair in the build-up to the fight, the Hitman was full of respect for Mayweather as a fighter.<\/p>\n

Speaking in 2017, 10 years on from their showdown, he told ESPN: \u201cAfter every single fight I've had, it was the only fight where I've sat in the changing rooms, bit down and thought to myself 'wow, he was good. Just his defence, his movement and just how clever he was.<\/p>\n
"He knew when to put his foot on the gas a little bit, when to soak it up a little bit, let me blow myself out, let the storm blow itself out a bit and then put his foot on the gas. I would go as far and say a genuis, absolutely great."<\/p>\n
