Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe are battling to buy the Red Devils and have both put forward a series of offers. And Express Sport looks at the latest takeover developments.<\/p>\n<h3>Sale delayed until 2025<\/h3>\n<p>At the weekend, the Mail on Sunday claimed the Glazers were planning on taking the club off the market after failing to get close to their anticipated asking price. Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe are both thought to have bid in the region of \u00a36billion for United. But, incredibly, the report said the current owners would demand between \u00a37bn and \u00a310bn by going after a sale again in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>By that time, the Glazers were said to be factoring in a higher price due to an uplift in TV rights revenues, the expansion of the Club World Cup to 32 teams in 2025 and the forthcoming World Cup in 2026. USA are one of three host countries for the next World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico, and the tournament could ignite interest in United from American billionaires.<\/p>\n<p>The Glazer family have faced protests for their refusal to accept an offer.
