<\/p>\nMicah Richards has revealed how Manchester City treble winner Scott Carson once cost him \u00a31million – after he fluffed his lines for England.<\/p>\n
Carson and Richards both played in the infamous Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia – which is seen as the end of the 'golden generation' as the Three Lions failed to reach Austria and Switzerland.<\/p>\n
The City shot-stopper fumbled Nico Kranjcar's tame effort into the net, which sent Croatia 2-0 up. England did manage to claw the game back, but Mladen Petric would later win the game for Croatia.<\/p>\n
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Richards joked: "The team we had that day… we didn't have Rio Ferdinand or John Terry.<\/p>\n
