{"id":289848,"date":"2023-09-14T14:34:48","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T14:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=289848"},"modified":"2023-09-14T14:34:48","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T14:34:48","slug":"i-cant-think-of-a-bigger-bout-than-me-v-canelo-says-chris-eubank-jr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/boxing\/i-cant-think-of-a-bigger-bout-than-me-v-canelo-says-chris-eubank-jr\/","title":{"rendered":"&apos;I can&apos;t think of a bigger bout than me v Canelo&apos; says Chris Eubank Jr"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Chris Eubank Jr claims &#8216;I cannot think of any bigger money bouts than me vs Canelo Alvarez&#8217; and welcomes fight against the &#8216;Brit slayer&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chris Eubank Jr has welcomed a fight against Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He claimed he couldn&#8217;t think of a &#8216;bigger money fight&#8217; than him vs the Mexican\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Following his win against Liam Smith, Eubank called out several other fighters<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Chris Eubank Jr has claimed that he &#8216;cannot think of a bigger money fight than a bout between himself and Canelo Alvarez.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The British fighter is currently weighing up who his next opponent should be after he enacted revenge against Liam Smith earlier this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After suffering defeat during their first meeting in January, &#8216;Next Gen&#8217; stopped Smith in the 10th round, dropping him to the canvas on two occasions during the grudge match.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, the 33-year-old called out several fighters\u00a0including\u00a0Conor Benn, Kell Brook and Gennady Golovkin, who has notably been beaten twice by Alvarez during his career.<\/p>\n<p>But it appears he would also welcome a fight against the Mexican boxer, who he referred to as the &#8216;Brit slayer&#8217;, noting his track record of defeating fighters from the United Kingdom, including Rocky Fielding, Billy Joe Saunders and most recently John Ryder.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/75427827-0-image-m-10_1694695421911.jpg\" height=\"572\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Chris Eubank Jr (pictured) has claimed that he &#8216;cannot think of a bigger money fight&#8217; than a bout between him and Canelo Alvarez<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/75427959-0-image-a-11_1694695431537.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Alvarez (right) is due to take on\u00a0Jermell Charlo on September 30, after having beaten John Ryder back in May<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/75427905-0-image-a-12_1694695435240.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>His record currently sits at 59-2-2 having only lost in his career to\u00a0Dimitrii Bivol and Floyd Mayweather Jr<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Sky Sports, Eubank Jr said:\u00a0&#8216;Canelo goes where the money is. &#8216;I can&#8217;t think of any bigger money fights than me versus Canelo. I know he wants to fight in the UK, it&#8217;s a huge market.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There aren&#8217;t many other guys there that people would like to see fight more than me and Alvarez. He&#8217;s one of them guys, he really does make the rules.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He does what he wants. He moves up in weight, he comes down in weight, he holds belts in different weight divisions, and he does all these things that other fighters could never do. So, it&#8217;s hard to kind of target him.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The super middleweight fighter holds a record of 59-2-2 and has only been beaten by Dimitrii Bivol and Floyd Mayweather Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Eubank&#8217;s record, meanwhile, sits at 33-3-0, having lost to Smith, George Groves and Saunders during his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And while the Brighton-born fighter admitted a bout between him and Alvarez would be enormous, he maintained that he wouldn&#8217;t be chasing the Mexican fighter to pin him down for a fight, stating that his potential opponent operates on his own accord.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You can&#8217;t target Canelo Alvarez. Whenever he wants to come and fight he&#8217;ll fight,&#8217; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He&#8217;ll look at the options, &#8220;OK yeah, that&#8217;s going to be a good money fight, I think I can beat him.&#8221; And he just does what he wants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;So, I&#8217;m not really so much targeting him. If it comes, it comes, great. You can&#8217;t chase him. He does what he wants.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Alvarez will put his IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight belts on the line on September 30 as prepares to face Jermell Charlo in Las Vegas.\u00a0It&#8217;s his first bout since he beat London-born boxer, Ryder, in May.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/75427847-0-image-a-13_1694695444583.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Eubank Jr (left) enacted revenge on Liam Smith (right) in their re-match earlier this month<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/75427833-0-image-a-14_1694695448678.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>After the bout Eubank (right) called out several boxers including Kell Brook, Conor Benn and\u00a0Gennady Golovkin<\/p>\n<p>Eubank, meanwhile, stated that if a fight between the pair materialized he would &#8216;take it to&#8217; Alvarez.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;For sure, they call him the Brit slayer,&#8217; Eubank added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;People know I&#8217;m not going to go down without a fight. I&#8217;m not going to get in there and freeze up. I&#8217;m going to go in there and I&#8217;m gonna take it to him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;That&#8217;s what people want to see and that&#8217;s the fight he needs to be in, whether he&#8217;ll accept a fight like that is to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But yeah, tell the fans, get the fans to speak up.
