Lando Norris has claimed that Max Verstappen should have received a grid-place penalty for his blocking incident involving Yuki Tsunoda at the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend.

The Dutch driver was investigated for two instances of blocking during qualifying in Singapore, first for impeding Logan Sargeant in the final sector during Q3 and then for ruining Tsunoda’s Q2 lap.

AlphaTauri’s Japanese driver was rounding turn three on a flying lap when he came across Verstappen’s RB19 parked on the racing line, forcing him to take avoiding action and leaving Tsunoda furious.

Ultimately the stewards decided that reprimands were ample punishment for Verstappen with the reigning two-time world champion avoiding further frustration after suffering a Q2 exit.
