Europe’s Emily Pedersen made history at the Solheim Cup, by hitting a hole-in-one for only the second time in the tournament’s history.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Danish golfer’s history-making moment came on the 12th hole, as Pedersen hit a\u00a0 tee shot that landed on the edge of the green, before spinning sideways and dribbling down into the hole.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It sparked wild celebrations from the 27-year-old and her European team, led by captain\u00a0Suzann Pettersen, who had included Pedersen as one of her wild pick’s for the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pedersen was playing with\u00a0Swede Maja Stark against Team USA’s\u00a0Jennifer Kupcho and Allisen Corpuz, and her ace drew the European’s level in their match-up after a disappointing start for the team in\u00a0Finca Cortesin.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Petterson’s team trailed 4-0 in the foursomes, with Pedersen and Charley Hull going down 5 &4 to Cheyenne Knight and Ally Ewing to give USA a commanding lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Emily Pedersen hits her shot on the 12th hole that made history with a hole-in-one for the Dane<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The shot sparked wild celebrations from Pedersen and the Europeans at the Solheim Cup\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The ace was only the second hole-in-one in the tournament’s history and drew Europe level\u00a0<\/p>\n However, the hole-in-one could now spur Europe into a third straight win in the Solheim Cup, despite their nightmare start in Spain.\u00a0<\/p>\n The hole-in-one was the second time the feat had been achieved at the Solheim Cup, with the previous ace was also being hit by a European.\u00a0<\/p>\n Swedish golfer Anna Nordqvist recorded the historic moment during the 2013 Solheim Cup at the Colorado Golf Club.\u00a0<\/p>\n Nordqvist’s 187-yard 7-iron helped her and partner\u00a0Caroline Hedwall beat\u00a0Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel 2 and 1 in the Saturday foursomes as Europe defeated USA 18-10 at the tournament a decade ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n
