Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville predicts Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to win the Premier League this season.

The former Manchester United star was also full of praise for summer signings Declan Rice and David Raya.

Arteta’s side have started the new campaign tremendously – winning four of their opening five games this season.

They come into the clash with Tottenham off the back of a win against PSV in the Champions League. With the club enjoying a perfect start to the campaign so far, Neville believes the side have enough to go all the way.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Arsenal’s blockbuster showdown with rivals Tottenham, Neville said: ‘Last season, I think they proved everybody wrong by how close they got and they were pushing City all the way till the very end.’

Neville then went on to make a bold prediction, claiming that the Gunners will win the title this season.

‘Arsenal, I think, I have them as title winners this season, which is an ambitious prediction.

‘I just feel there’s something here. They’ve stopped conceding goals and they’ve only had 10 shots on target against them this season.

The 48-year-old also touched upon Arteta bringing Raya into the starting eleven while defending Aaron Ramsdale.

Raya, who made his debut in the Gunners’ win over Everton, kept a cleansheet at Goodison Park and it looks like the summer signing is set to be Arteta’s new No 1.

‘I think Raya coming in is a masterstroke from Mikel Arteta. That shows that he has got that brutal decision making element to him.’

‘Aaron Ramsdale done nothing wrong, but to bring Raya in after they’ve beaten United here after the international break is a big call.’

The Sky Sports pundit has also been impressed by Arsenal starlet Declan Rice. The midfielder has been one of the Gunners’ star players this season following his move from West Ham.

Neville was also full of praise for David Raya – claiming it was a ‘masterstroke’ from Arteta

When asked about the English star, Neville said: ‘Watching him at Everton last week and watching him against Manchester United here, he has that Roy Keane ability to recover with power.

‘His power of recovery when Arsenal lose the ball to get back at people and stop counter attacks is incredible.’

The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their record-breaking triumph in 2004.

While it is only September, the Gunners have already shown why they are capable of going toe-to-toe with Manchester City this season.
