Des Lynam has become a "real life Dr Dolittle" – giving animals a voice in his transition from presenter to author.

Before being succeeded by Gary Lineker, the 80-year-old became a football TV legend hosting Match of the Day as well as Sportsnight and Grandstand, to name just a few of his many gigs. He's not been seen on our TV screens for well over a decade.

But he's still keeping busy in retirement – writing several animal-themed books where the characters can speak English. Parts one and two of Now Who's Talking? hit the shelves in July.
