{"id":291516,"date":"2023-09-27T15:19:41","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T15:19:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=291516"},"modified":"2023-09-27T15:19:41","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T15:19:41","slug":"sofyan-amrabat-explains-decision-to-reject-liverpool-and-join-man-utd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/soccer\/sofyan-amrabat-explains-decision-to-reject-liverpool-and-join-man-utd\/","title":{"rendered":"Sofyan Amrabat explains decision to reject Liverpool and join Man Utd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/SEI_173483763-7dec.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Sofyan Amrabat says he was intent on joining Manchester United despite receiving interest from Liverpool this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United news, exclusives and analysis<\/p>\n<p>The Morocco international completed his switch to United on deadline day as he arrived from Fiorentina on an initial \u00a38.5 million (\u20ac10m) loan deal, while Erik ten Hag\u2019s side have the option to make the move permanent for \u00a321.4m (\u20ac25m).<\/p>\n<p>However, Liverpool were also in the market to bolster their midfield options in the summer window and Amrabat was on their shortlist.<\/p>\n<p>Reports this week have claimed that Amrabat was close to joining Liverpool and had even spoke to Jurgen Klopp about the prospect of moving to Anfield.<\/p>\n<p>But Amrabat insists being reunited with Ten Hag was his first-choice option.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he endured a difficult period in the summer as he held out for a move to United, Amrabat said: \u2018Yes, of course.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>\u2018After the last game with the club, it was the Conference League final with West Ham and from that moment, the window started for me.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018A lot of clubs, a lot of speaking, talking, but for me it was clear I wanted Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It was long, long months for me, difficult months for me, but at the end it\u2019s nice on the last day that I signed here and that I\u2019m here is now the most important.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the prospect of making his move to United permanent at the end of the season, Amrabat said: \u2018I don\u2019t think about that. For me, today, I am a Manchester United player.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The only thing I can do is every day to give everything that I have, to do my best, to try to help the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I hope we have a fantastic season, I hope we can win something and then later we will see what will happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Of course, I would love to stay here, but that\u2019s not important for me.
