{"id":291679,"date":"2023-09-28T19:34:20","date_gmt":"2023-09-28T19:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=291679"},"modified":"2023-09-28T19:34:20","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T19:34:20","slug":"fury-says-theres-nothing-to-gain-from-fighting-usyk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/boxing\/fury-says-theres-nothing-to-gain-from-fighting-usyk\/","title":{"rendered":"Fury says there&apos;s &apos;nothing to gain&apos; from fighting Usyk"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Tyson Fury insists Anthony Joshua doesn&#8217;t have &#8216;ANYTHING to give&#8217; since losing his titles&#8230; as he also dismisses unified bout with Oleksandr Usyk as there&#8217;s &#8216;nothing to gain&#8217; in fighting for &#8216;no money&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tyson Fury spoke to Rio Ferdinand ahead of his fight with Francis Ngannou\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He played down the possibility of fighting Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Gypsy King feels that neither man has anything to offer in a fight\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tyson Fury has dismissed the possibility of fights with Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk in an interview with Rio Ferdinand ahead of his fight with Francis Ngannou next month.<\/p>\n<p>The Gypsy King is set to face the former UFC\u00a0heavyweight champion in a crossover bout in Saudi Arabia on October 28.<\/p>\n<p>Despite excitement over the fight, there has been disappointment among many boxing fans that a fight with Fury against either Joshua or Usyk has never come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United legend Ferdinand quizzed Fury about the possibility of a heavyweight unification showdown with Usyk, or a bout with Joshua, during an interview on behalf of TNT Sports Boxing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked about a dream British showdown with Joshua, Fury suggested that he lost interest in a match after his rival lost his unbeaten record against Andy Ruiz Jr, before later losing his titles to Usyk.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/28\/18\/75945759-12572249-image-a-3_1695923719069.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tyson Fury appeared to dismiss the possibility of future bouts with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua while speaking to Rio Ferdinand in an interview for TNT Sports Boxing<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/28\/18\/75948295-12572249-image-a-8_1695923991253.jpg\" height=\"439\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury believes Anthony Joshua doesn&#8217;t have &#8216;anything to give&#8217; since losing his unbeaten record to Andy Ruiz Jr and then his titles to Usyk<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/28\/18\/75948117-12572249-image-a-6_1695923847376.jpg\" height=\"424\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury also believes that there&#8217;s &#8216;nothing to gain&#8217; in fighting Oleksandr Usyk in a unification clash<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=dMmWrF0UXZQ%3Frel%3D0<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;AJ&#8217;s been beat now. I was interested when he was a virgin when he was a test. &#8220;We want big fights and this, that or the other&#8221; but who are you?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You don&#8217;t have any belts anymore. You don&#8217;t have anything to give. I&#8217;m interested in doing the biggest fights, most money, most glamour. This is why I&#8217;m going to Saudi to fight\u00a0Francis Ngannou.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The Gypsy King also ripped into Usyk, insisting that there&#8217;s nothing for him to gain from fighting the Ukrainian.<\/p>\n<p>Talks over a potential fight fell apart this year, and despite the possibility of taking Usyk&#8217;s heavyweight belts, Fury said that it&#8217;s &#8216;all about getting paid and getting laid.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/28\/19\/75948299-12572249-image-m-11_1695924014002.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/28\/19\/75946093-12572249-Fury_will_fight_former_UFC_heavyweight_champion_Francis_Ngannou_-a-12_1695924018673.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury will fight former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia next month<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;Why on earth would I want to fight him for no money? He&#8217;s got zero personality, he&#8217;s an ugly b******, gappy teeth and he&#8217;s half the size of me. So it&#8217;s all to gain for him and nothing to gain for me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If I beat him it&#8217;s like &#8220;oh you beat a middleweight&#8221;. If he beats me, he beats the legendary Tyson Fury for no money.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He was offered the fight in April, a lot of money and they didn&#8217;t take it and ran away looking for more money. I understand everyone wants the most money possible, I do. This is prize fighting and everybody wants the biggest bag.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;No matter what people say &#8220;it&#8217;s about the belts, it&#8217;s about my record, my legacy&#8221;, no, it&#8217;s all about getting paid and getting laid and that&#8217;s it.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Fury also remarked that while he has attracted bigger crowds than singers Adele and Ed Sheeran at Wembley Stadium, Usyk &#8216;wouldn&#8217;t sell out a leisure centre in Morecambe.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added&#8217;\u00a0I offered him 30% of a large bag and they said no they want more.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;On what merit do you deserve more?
