and claimed that he lacked &#8216;the mindset&#8217; to make the correct decisions under the pump.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/18\/76075911-12585075-Joey_Barton_singled_out_one_of_his_players_in_particular_for_cri-a-4_1696266276073.jpg\" height=\"453\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/18\/76075907-12585075-Luke_Thomas_was_labelled_a_young_boy_by_his_manager-a-5_1696266276105.jpg\" height=\"453\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Joey Barton singled out one of his players in particular for criticism and was called a &#8216;young boy&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/18\/76075909-12585075-Thomas_had_complained_of_a_hamstring_issue_before_Barton_atteste-a-3_1696266276048.jpg\" height=\"479\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Thomas had complained of a hamstring issue before Barton attested he was at fault for the second goal\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Their first goal was a deflected hit that went through a crowd of bodies and our keeper had no chance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Then to compound it one idiotic young boy \u2013 I can&#8217;t even call him a man \u2013 has compromised the team with his behavioural standards and we find ourselves 2-0 down with a mountain to climb.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Unless we man up \u2013 and I know you have to be careful saying that in the modern era \u2013 and absolutely eradicate these weak, feeble-minded individuals that are currently inside our unit, we won&#8217;t get promoted out of this division.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Barton added that Thomas had complained of a hamstring issue before deciding to continue playing, while Barton readied a substitution.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But, in his infinite wisdom, he goes to press the ball and completely exposes Jack Hunt.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We should do better after that, but we find ourselves 2-0 down \u2013 all because someone hasn\u2019t got the mindset required to make the correct call to keep the team strong.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We didn\u2019t get that little bit of luck and we were sabotaged from within with an idiotic decision by Luke.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Despite his side sitting nine spots below the Posh after the game, Barton was firm in his assessment that his side were superior and seemed convinced that they went behind against the run of play.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/18\/76076561-12585075-Barton_remained_convinced_that_his_side_were_the_better_team_in_-a-2_1696266276043.jpg\" height=\"426\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Barton remained convinced that his side were the better team in the clash despite now sitting nine places below Peterborough<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/18\/76076795-12585075-The_Gas_had_picked_up_seven_points_from_their_previous_three_lea-a-6_1696266276117.jpg\" height=\"426\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Gas had picked up seven points from their previous three league games despite losing to West Ham&#8217;s U21s in the Football League Trophy<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I can\u2019t really get too down on the lads as I thought there was some really good stuff out there, but some days it just doesn\u2019t go for you.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The thing that\u2019s really annoyed me is at 1-0 I still really fancied us.
