{"id":292084,"date":"2023-10-02T21:37:19","date_gmt":"2023-10-02T21:37:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=292084"},"modified":"2023-10-02T21:37:19","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T21:37:19","slug":"mayweather-claims-he-is-the-greatest-fighter-ever-in-row-with-reporter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/boxing\/mayweather-claims-he-is-the-greatest-fighter-ever-in-row-with-reporter\/","title":{"rendered":"Mayweather claims he is the greatest fighter ever in row with reporter"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Floyd Mayweather snaps back at reporter who claimed he was only &#8216;arguably&#8217; the greatest fighter of all time as he interrupts press conference of protege Curmel Moton<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Floyd Mayweather claimed he was the greatest fighter in a row with a reporter\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The undefeated star interrupted his protege&#8217;s press conference on Saturday\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mayweather made his case after a journalist said he was &#8216;arguably&#8217; the greatest<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Floyd Mayweather laid into a reporter who claimed he was only &#8216;arguably&#8217; the greatest fighter of all time as he interrupted his protege&#8217;s press conference to lay out his career achievements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The legendary boxer was supporting 17-year-old rising star Curmel Moton, who had his first professional fight on Saturday night, stopping Ezequiel Flores on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez v Jermell Charlo, when a journalist pointed out that he was lucky to be guided by &#8216;arguably&#8217; the greatest fighter the sport has seen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mayweather &#8211; who won all 50 of his professional bouts &#8211; immediately took issue with his comments as he demonstrated his credentials to be considered the greatest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;What are we rating ourselves on?&#8217; the 46-year-old hit back. &#8216;I didn&#8217;t have to have 70 fights, 150 fights, 300 fights.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He then asked the journalist: &#8216;Did I or did I not beat the most world champions?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/09\/76061845-12583415-image-a-10_1696235537665.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Floyd Mayweather interrupted a press conference to insist he was the greatest ever fighter<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/09\/76061911-12583415-image-a-12_1696235563056.jpg\" height=\"295\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>He snapped back at a reporter who claimed he was only &#8216;arguably&#8217; the best boxer of all time<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/09\/76061915-12583415-image-a-13_1696235569350.jpg\" height=\"299\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mayweather laid out his achievements while supporting protege\u00a0Curmel Moton on Saturday<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Yes you did,&#8217; the reporter said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Okay, and in the least amount of fights?&#8217; Mayweather asked, to which the reporter responded: &#8216;Yes you did.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Who got the highest gate?&#8217; Mayweather asked next, with the journalist responding: &#8216;Floyd Mayweather.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mayweather then asked the journalist &#8216;who made the most money&#8217; and &#8216;who was the most accurate&#8217;, to which the reporter both agreed was the former welterweight champion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He then said: &#8216;It&#8217;s basically saying that\u2026&#8217; before the reporter cut in saying, &#8216;The greatest of all time&#8217;, with Mayweather replying, &#8216;Okay&#8217;, and walking off the stage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/09\/76061847-12583415-image-a-11_1696235560525.jpg\" height=\"726\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mayweather won 15 world championship belts across five weight classes before finishing his boxing career undefeated<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/09\/76062125-12583415-image-a-15_1696236325830.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The 46-year-old has since been raking in millions from a series of lucrative exhibition bouts<\/p>\n<p>Mayweather has become renowned in his career for his brash comments and boasting of his lucrative career earnings. He is understood to be worth around $400million (\u00a3328m) &#8211; having continued his success even after retiring in 2017 by putting on a series of exhibition bouts, earning vasts sums of money in the process.<\/p>\n<p>He has raked in millions fighting the likes of Logan Paul, YouTuber Deji and former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers.<\/p>\n<p>Mayweather is often seen flaunting lucrative watches, jewellery and designer clothes after lucrative shopping sprees flanked by a huge entourage &#8211;
