Lionel Messi’s wisdom is making its way to the Inter Miami academy, as co-owner David Beckham has revealed the Argentine star is telling the club’s youngsters to ‘walk more.’

Messi, who is currently batting a muscle injury and looks doubtful to feature on Wednesday vs. the Chicago Fire, has made an enormous impact for his new team with 11 goals in 12 games.

But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is apparently sharing his knowledge with the club’s prospects as well.

‘There was an interview the other day with one of the academy kids, who is doing well, and they turned round to him and said, ‘what’s the best bit of advice that Leo has given you so far?’ And he said, ‘to walk more,” Beckham revealed on the latest episode of Stick to Football.

‘He said ‘to walk more because you see more’ so it’s already started with the good that he does. It’s incredible.’

And the No. 10 is apparently telling academy players to ‘walk more’ so they can see the gam

Co-owner David Beckham relayed the anecdote on the latest episode of ‘Stick to Football’

Messi’s son Thiago joined the Miami academy last month, and Beckham said the star’s arrival has ‘changed everything’ when it comes to the club’s lower rungs.

‘To bring someone like him to the club, we knew it would change the club and we knew it would change the league and the sport – but it’s beyond that,’ Beckham said, speaking alongside Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott.

‘What he does on the pitch, what he does off the pitch, for the young kids – to bring somebody in like him is the dream, also Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.

‘To bring in Leo has changed everything. The academy kids have someone to look up to, who has done everything, won everything, and he’s teaching them, which is amazing.

Messi’s affinity for walking was previously noted by Alexi Lalas, who questioned the idea that the star needed to be rested.

‘Load management? Messi walks around most of the game!’ Lalas said on Twitter, before a fan asked him if it was a response to the standard of the games he has been playing.

‘Don’t be so insecure.’ Lalas said. ‘Messi has always walked…until it’s time not to walk.’

However, the ex-USA defender was still full of praise for the Miami No. 10, saying, ‘If you can’t find joy in this or you find a way to crap on it, you need to seek help.’

Messi has missed the last three games and was not pictured on Tuesday with the rest of Miami’s traveling squad for Chicago.
