<\/p>\nJose Mourinho has taken a swipe at former club Manchester United after claiming it was a "miracle" he won trophies with them.<\/p>\n
The Special One had a bit of a mixed spell at Old Trafford. Expectations were sky-high when he replaced Louis van Gaal in 2016, but aside from a second-place Premier League finish in 2017\/18 they barely ever looked like title challengers.<\/p>\n
They did, however, win the Europa League and the League Cup in 2017 and Mourinho reckons the achievements don't get the credit they deserve, especially since it took the club six years to win another trophy after that. Speaking to Sky Italia<\/i>, he said: "I have achieved many feats, but winning the Champions League with Porto is a super feat with nine Portuguese players having played in the Champions League final, seven guys a year earlier who had not had any matches in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

"But there are other clubs because if I have been lucky enough to work with teams with large budgets, I have had the difficulty of working in teams where winning is a miracle. I won with Manchester United, I won a cup and a half with Roma, I wasn't able to win two cups in Rome but I won one and a half [referring to last season's Europa League final] and I have another six months here."<\/p>\n
After a trophy-laded first season at Old Trafford, Mourinho's United finished second in the league on 80 points – their highest total since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure. But a poor start to the following led to an acrimonious mid-season sacking.<\/p>\n

Since exploding onto the scene as Porto boss over 20 years ago, Mourinho has won silverware at every club he's managed – except for Tottenham. His Champions League triumphs in 2004 and 2010 with Porto and Inter Milan respectively remain two of the most shocking wins in the competition's history.<\/p>\n
The 60-year-old never had the same success in Europe when managing 'bigger' (or wealthier) sides, but there are few who can rival the domestic success he had with them. He won the Primeira Liga twice with Porto, including a league and cup double in 2003, three Premier League titles and four domestic cups with Chelsea, two Serie A titles and two domestic cups with Inter and three domestic honours, including a La Liga title, with Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
