    Preston North End teenage ace Finlay Cross-Adair was involved in a head-on car crash that's left him in a serious condition in hospital.<\/p>\n

    The 18-year-old was travelling in a Seat Ibiza when the vehicle collided head-on with a Mercedes Sprinter van that left the forward with 'serious injuries'. The incident occurred on the A6 near Lancaster on Thursday (October 5) afternoon.<\/p>\n

    Cross-Adair is a lifelong Preston North End fan and is currently out on loan with Scottish League One side Annan Athletic. His parent club released a statement on the car crash and the teenager's condition which read: "Preston North End can confirm that young professional Finlay Cross-Adair was involved in a road traffic accident on the A6 on the evening of Thursday 5th October.<\/p>\n

    "Finlay suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident and is currently recovering in hospital. The football club will show full support for Finlay and his family during his recovery. We will be making no further comment until it is appropriate to do so."<\/p>\n

    Cross-Adair is an academy graduate of Preston as he made his way through the youth ranks before signing his first professional contract in December 2022. The club was impressed with his performances after helping the youth team clinch a league and cup double in 2021\/22. He's since made made six appearances for the first team and seven games for Annan this season, he's scored one goal and assisted another.<\/p>\n

    Sgt Phil Baxendale, from Lancashire Police\u2019s road policing unit, said: "This collision has left a young man with some very serious injuries and my thoughts are with him at this time. We are now working to establish exactly what caused the collision and I would ask anyone with information or dashcam footage which would assist our enquiries to contact us as soon as possible."<\/p>\n

    A spokesperson for the fire service spoke to the Lancashire Post: "Garstang (fire service) along with Lancaster attended a road traffic collision involving a car and a van on the A6 in bay horse. One casualty was reported trapped. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately two hours.<\/p>\n

    "The casualty was given first aid by firefighters and was extricated and handed over to North West Ambulance Service." The teenager has received many well wishes on social media with fans coming together to hope for his speedy recovery as one fan wrote: "Hope he recovers well and is okay" while another commented: "My thoughts are with you Fin, speedy recovery pal". <\/p>\n

    Annan Athletic reposted Preston's statement of the teen on X as fans continue to send their best wishes for the forward.<\/p>\n
