Brooks Koepka has stated his desire to enter the boxing ring and fight golf rival Bryson DeChambeau. Koepka was one of the biggest stars on the PGA Tour to leave and sign up for the Saudi-funded LIV Golf back in 2022.

The five-time major champion was joined by DeChambeau, with both currently competing for LIV Golf for the past two seasons. Keopka finished the 2023 season in third place behind Talor Gooch and Cameron Smith, while DeChambeau was fourth.

Both Koepka and DeChambeau each finished the season with two wins on LIV under their belt. Koepka also won the fifth major title of his career at the PGA Championship in May.

Due to their involvement in LIV Golf, neither player was able to automatically qualify for Team USA for the Ryder Cup. However, Koepka was selected as one of six captain’s picks by Zach Johnson for the tournament in Italy.

Koepka appeared on the ‘BS w/ Jake Paul’ podcast on Thursday, where he was asked if there was an opponent that he had previously had issues with. Koepka namechecked DeChambeau, with tensions flaring between the pair in recent years.

“I had the big thing with Bryson [DeChambeau],” said Koepka. Paul then responded by saying: “Would you fight him like in a boxing match?” Koepka replied: “Yeah, are you going to promote it?”

Paul then offered to help arrange a fight between Koepka and DeChambeau: “I am down. I will put a $1 million (£820k) purse up for each fighter, plus pay-per-view.”

One co-host on the podcast then said: “Bryson in shambles, am I right, after that fight?” Koepka responded by saying: “Oh, he will be, don’t worry. I think we could make something happen.”
