It’s Ryan Reynolds’ 47th birthday, and co-Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney has kept up their trend of giving elaborate gifts on their special day. Back in April, Reynolds released an entire song for McElhenney, but he’s received an entire park in his honour in return.

McElhenney has revealed plans to open the “Ryan Rodney Reynolds Park” in Wrexham, Wales, for Reynolds’ birthday.

The Wrexham owners have completely transformed the club since taking over almost three years ago, gaining promotion back to the Football League after a 15-year wait, and boosting their social profiles by almost 1000 percent. They’ve also done wonders for the town, putting them on the map through their “Welcome to Wrexham” TV series.

And now McElhenney has ensured that Reynolds will be a permanent part of Wrexham in the future, by opening a park dedicated to him. It’s a hilarious prank and birthday idea, but a very expensive one.

Don’t miss…

The Reynolds Park is yet to be formally opened, but the plans have been completed as the video shared by McElhenney showed CGI footage of people enjoying the services on offer. McElhenney got fellow actor Chris Pratt to film a hilarious video, where they disclosed Reynolds’ birthday present.

After McElhenney made fun of himself for having fewer followers than Reynolds, an old-school advertisement rolled out to promote the new park. “Introducing the “Ryan Rodney Reynolds Park” in Wrexham, Wale,” McElhenney said over the video.

“Located on the site of the old Wrexham Hippodrome, this park will be beautiful. We’ll have open, green spaces, popup restaurants, and movie screens. There will be actual green lanterns, benches for old guys to swing on, and a statue that may or may not look like Ryan. Happy Birthday, Ryan!”
