Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones were spotted at El Clasico on Saturday afternoon.

Real Madrid and Barcelona were facing off in the first instalment of their bitter rivalry this season, with the game taking place at the Estadi Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium – which is the Catalan giants’ home ground this season due to renovations at the Nou Camp.

Their attendance at the crunch match comes after the club announced last month that the band would sponsor Barcelona’s shirts for the game.

They revealed the iconic tongue and lips logo of the band would replace the usual Spotify logo.

And on Saturday, Jagger and his fellow bandmates, including Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman, were pictured taking in the atmosphere.

Jagger (with Bill Wyman (L) and Ronnie Wood (R)) was seen gesturing during the game

The band agreed a deal that would see their logo feature on Barcelona’s kit for the game

They could also be seen to be gesturing as the bitter rivalry got underway and throughout the game.

The game lived up to the hype with two goals from Jude Bellingham – including one in the 92nd minute – securing a dramatic victory for Real after Ilkay Gundogan had put Barcelona in front.

The agreement surrounding the shirt sponsorship was all to do with promoting the Rolling Stones’ new album ‘Hackney Diamonds’, which was released on October 20. The album is the Rolling Stones first release of new material in 18 years.

‘We’re huge football fans and honoured that Spotify have brought our Tongue & Lips logo to grace the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones’ new ‘Hackney Diamonds’ album,’ the Rolling Stones said.

‘We’ll be cheering on the players on the pitch as well as fans around the world who will be tuning in to watch this iconic match.’

Barcelona added that the band’s logo will also feature on the women’s team’s kit for their match against Sevilla on November 5 at Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Spotify had previously given up their place on Barcelona’s shirt during the two Clasicos last season.

Catalan musician Rosalia’s Motomami design featured on the shirt for Barcelona’s 2-1 home win against their rivals last March.

Barcelona and Spotify’s partnership officially began in 2022, with the streaming service sponsoring the club’s senior shirts for the next four seasons, as well as on the kits of the club’s pro academies.

The agreement surrounding the shirt deal was to do with promoting their new album

However, Barcelona lost a tense clash 2-1 after two goals from the in-form Jude Bellingham

The club’s 99,354-seat stadium, which is undergoing redevelopment this season, was renamed Spotify Camp Nou as part of the deal.

Limited edition shirts featuring the Rolling Stones logo will be sold, which will have the signatures of each player who played in the two matches.

Clothing featuring the logos of the Rolling Stones, Spotify and Barcelona will also be sold, including t-shirts, bucket hats and hoodies.

The Rolling Stones will also release special editions of their new album featuring Barcelona’s club crest, along with a retro shirt inspired by the fashion of the 1960s when the band was formed.
