Haas driver Kevin Magnussen has been transported to the medical center after his No. 20 machine crashed at the Mexico City Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
Magnussen caught the inside curb in between turns 7 and 8 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez – causing him to spin out.<\/p>\n
His vehicle slid across the track and collided with the barriers hard – with the rear wing of his car in tatters.<\/p>\n
Shortly after the wreck, the car began to catch on fire as Magnussen walked under his own power into the medical car.<\/p>\n
The race was red-flagged after the incident with 35 of the 71 laps completed.<\/p>\n

Haas driver Kevin Magnussen’s day in Mexico ended early after a wreck on Lap 34<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
His No. 20 Haas machine crashed at this portion of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He got out of the car and then walked into the medical car under his own power<\/p>\n
Magnussen became the second retirement of the day after Red Bull driver Sergio Perez wrecked before the first corner of the race.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After a delay of a little over 20 minutes, the barriers that Magnussen crashed into were repaired and the race began again with a standing start.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Max Verstappen was leading the race at the time of the wreck, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton\u00a0in P2 and P3 behind him.<\/p>\n
According to Haas, Magnussen is okay after a check-over, ‘but is being kept a little while longer just for observations.’<\/p>\n
