While banned in boxing, elbow shots are permitted in MMA.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/30\/11\/77171633-12688329-Tyson_Fury_right_appeared_to_hit_Francis_Ngannou_with_an_elbow_s-a-8_1698665937088.jpg\" height=\"333\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tyson Fury (right) appeared to hit Francis Ngannou with an elbow shot during the bout<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/30\/11\/77171635-12688329-Watching_ringside_Cristiano_Ronaldo_looked_surprised_by_the_elbo-a-7_1698665926411.jpg\" height=\"444\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Watching ringside, Cristiano Ronaldo looked surprised by the elbow shot\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Watching the fight ringside, Cristiano Ronaldo looked as surprise as Ngannou after Fury landed his elbow straight on his opponent&#8217;s face.<\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo was one several A-listers who attended the bout, alongside former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand, Brazil star Ronaldo, ex-UFC world champion Conor McGregor and rap icons Kanye West and Eminem.<\/p>\n<p>Reigning heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was also in attendance, less than two months away from his undisputed heavyweight fight Fury.<\/p>\n<p>Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, is scheduled to fight the Ukrainian, who holds the three other world titles, in Saudi Arabia on December 23.<\/p>\n<p>But his performance against Ngannou has cast doubts over whether the fight will go ahead as planned.<\/p>\n<p>Fury himself did little to dispel doubts the fight on December 23 may be postponed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We&#8217;ll put the biggest fight of our generation on,&#8217; he said on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The fight of the century for the undisputed [heavyweight] championships of the world. See you all sometime next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/30\/11\/77171593-12688329-image-a-4_1698665632485.jpg\" height=\"468\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury preserved his unbeaten record after beating Ngannou by split decision\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/30\/11\/77172089-12688329-image-a-17_1698667001703.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The former MMA star was making his professional boxing debut but surprised the Gypsy King<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/30\/11\/77171529-12688329-image-a-3_1698665630827.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ngannou floored Fury in the third round and many felt he should have won the bout<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Have a good Christmas if I don&#8217;t see you and a happy New Year.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His comments were in stark contrast with his remarks before the fight, in which he was adamant the undisputed fight with Usyk would take place in December.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Usyk has got to fight in December,&#8217; he bullishly told Sky Sports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He doesn&#8217;t have a choice. He signed the contract, so if he doesn&#8217;t [fight] he&#8217;s breached the contract and he gets sued.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Sunday, promoter Frank Warren suggested the fight may take place at some point next year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We were going to do it on 23 December. I doubt that will happen now,&#8217; he told\u00a0BBC 5Live Boxing podcast,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/30\/11\/77171609-12688329-image-a-6_1698665645777.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo was one several A-listers who attended the bout on Saturday night\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Tyson can&#8217;t be going into a camp after a tough fight like that. That&#8217;s eight weeks away.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He needs at least a bit of time to get himself, his body, back into shape. Let it heal. Then get into a camp. It will be on early next year.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Usyk, however, insisted the fight will go ahead on December 23.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We have a contract that says the fight has to take place on 23 December.
