Manchester United fans think Erik ten Hag's days as manager are numbered following news of dressing room discontent.

The Red Devils have made their worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign having lost five of their first 10 matches. Their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend left a particularly bitter taste in the mouth and internal expectations are that the club will miss out on a top four place this season.

Despite this, it's understood United bosses have no plans to get rid of Ten Hag, but supporters aren't sure that'll last long. According to ESPN, the players are unhappy with the intensity of the Dutchman's training sessions and some think they're leaving the team overly-fatigued and susceptible to injury.

"There it is. We are getting another manager sacked," one fed up United supporter wrote on X in response to the news. Another said: "Looks like the writing is on the wall for another manager," while a third added: "And so it begins. Might as well say goodbye to Ten Hag now."

Chelsea are the only Premier League club to have suffered more first team injuries than United this season, and the loss of so many key players has left Ten Hag's squad over-worked and demoralised. Off-field issues such as the long-running takeover saga, a criminal investigation involving Antony and Jadon Sancho's exile have also impacted United's campaign.

Club bosses appreciate that things haven't been easy for Ten Hag and are willing to give the former Ajax head coach time to steady the ship. But the longer United's poor of form continues, the harder it will get to keep Ten Hag around.

Soon-to-be minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is expected to take control of all football operations at United once his £1.4billion bid for a 25% stake in the club is confirmed, is a long-standing admirer of Ten Hag and plans to work closely with him during the upcoming January transfer window. That said, it's understood he'll consider pulling the trigger if the rot doesn't stop.
