The winter window would have been seen as prime opportunity for the club to strengthen a squad that has been lacklustre in both the Premier League and Champions League this season. There could be hope on the horizon for Glazer-hating United fans, with Ineos billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to buy a 25% stake in the club with a view to overhauling football operations. <\/p>\n
While the sale of a quarter stake in the club is close, it is still to be finalised, leading to continuing uncertainty over January transfer plans with less than two months to go before the window opens. Complying with Financial Fair Play restrictions is also an issue, reports the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

According to the Manchester Evening News, both could be replaced as part of Ratcliffe\u2019s shake-up of the football side of the club following a string expensive mistakes in the transfer market. <\/p>\n
Ratcliffe, who also owns Ligue 1 leaders, is certainly not afraid to make changes, having hired Fabrice Bocquet as the French club\u2019s chief executive in September 2022 while Florent Ghisolfi was poached from Lens as sporting director a month later. <\/p>\n
