Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Burnley this afternoon. Mikel Arteta has a limited squad to pick from due to further injury concerns. Express Sport looks at the XI he is expected to select at the Emirates.

Goalkeeper – Raya

David Raya will keep his place in goal as Aaron Ramsdale continues to watch on from the sidelines. Raya was largely untroubled against Sevilla in midweek and hasn’t conceded in his last three home matches.

Ramsdale will be happy to maintain his spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad. However, whether Southgate will continue to select him moving forward if he doesn’t win his club spot back remains to be seen.

Defence – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko

Arsenal lost Takehiro Tomiyasu to injury at half-time of the 2-0 win over Sevilla. Arteta said the Japan star felt uncomfortable in the first half and they weren’t prepared to risk him.

Oleksandr Zinchenko would be the obvious replacement at left-back. Ben White has had a heavy workload having started every league match so far this season.

However, he has again been snubbed by Southgate so will have a breather in the next couple of weeks. William Saliba will partner Gabriel in the middle of defence.

Midfield – Jorginho, Havertz, Rice

Martin Odegaard hasn’t started any of Arsenal’s last four matches across three competitions. The Norway star is unlikely to be risked from the start if not fully fit.

Kai Havertz could therefore keep his spot in Odegaard’s position. Arteta was impressed with the German in midweek after he came close to scoring on a couple of occasions.

Jorginho and Declan Rice will likely start again in midfield. Thomas Partey is set to miss the rest of 2023 while Emile Smith Rowe is out with a knee problem.
