{"id":296269,"date":"2023-11-12T02:25:10","date_gmt":"2023-11-12T02:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=296269"},"modified":"2023-11-12T02:25:10","modified_gmt":"2023-11-12T02:25:10","slug":"ufcs-jamahal-hill-has-his-bus-attacked-by-pro-palestine-protestors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/mma\/ufcs-jamahal-hill-has-his-bus-attacked-by-pro-palestine-protestors\/","title":{"rendered":"UFC&apos;s Jamahal Hill has his bus attacked by pro-Palestine protestors"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>UFC fighter Jamahal Hill has his van attacked by pro-Palestine protestors in Times Square ahead of Saturday night&#8217;s UFC 295 in New York City<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The windows of the van carrying Hill and his entourage were smashed\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hill will watch to see who takes the belt he gave up after an Achilles tear\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jamahal Hill, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, was traveling in a van through Times Square &#8211; and into the heart of a pro-Palestine protest.<\/p>\n<p>Hill is in New York City to attend UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening &#8211; but the night before, he found himself in trouble.<\/p>\n<p>While in a van with his management team and a few others, the vehicle was surrounded by protesters marching to demand a ceasefire in Gaza amidst the heightened conflict between Palestine and Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The van became boxed in on all sides by angry protestors who appeared to open the door and started to break the van&#8217;s windows.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the van eventually got the door shut, but the gathered crowd continued to hit the vehicle and shout profanities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/11\/22\/77691917-12738555-A_van_carrying_UFC_fighter_Jamahal_Hill_was_attacked_by_pro_Pale-a-6_1699741065962.jpg\" height=\"361\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>A van carrying UFC fighter Jamahal Hill was attacked by pro-Palestinian protesters Friday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/11\/22\/77691919-12738555-Hill_showed_images_from_inside_the_van_showing_that_a_window_had-a-4_1699741042993.jpg\" height=\"554\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Hill showed images from inside the van showing that a window had been broken<\/p>\n<p>Hill later posted his account of the events on Instagram, saying, &#8216;We trying to leave downtown. Our bus is being attacked right now by something, some protest or something that&#8217;s going on.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They&#8217;re throwing, they&#8217;re breaking our windows, and all this and that\u2026 If any of my people down here downtown and you really got me\u2026 come get these people up off our bus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hill also said that he was hit in the face with something when a protestor hit the glass.<\/p>\n<p>He was very visibly upset by the incident and people in the van tried calming him down.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>Hill&#8217;s manager, Brian Butler, wrote on Instagram: &#8216;This could have escalated very badly. This was a sliver of a hair away from being catastrophic.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;People were saying, &#8220;Go, step on the gas. Step on the gas.&#8221; People started trickling over because we were at the very front,&#8217; Butler told MMA Junkie.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I think they were curious because it was a big Sprinter van, so they started coming up and putting their signs and stuff up on the window.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Then they got a look inside and they could see it was UFC security in there, and they were like, &#8220;Oh, UFC people.&#8221; Then they started saying stuff like, you know, just mob mentality stuff.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>WARNING: VIDEO BELOW CONTAINS OBSCENITIES.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CzfH9VFp-Cf\/<\/p>\n<p>A post shared by Jamahal Hill (@sweet_dreams_jhill)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/11\/22\/77691825-12738555-image-a-1_1699740910332.jpg\" height=\"457\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Hill is in New York to watch UFC 295 after tearing his Achilles to see who will take his belt<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Nothing other than that sheer energy that was going on. It was like, &#8220;UFC people are bitches,&#8221; UFC people are this and that.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The comments infuriated Hill, according to Butler.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Jamahal started seeing red, so it was an issue trying to get him calmed down,&#8217; Butler said. &#8216;But it started escalating pretty quickly. \u2026 It went from zero to having the whole vehicle surrounded and banging on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The windows started breaking, and then Jamahal said he saw someone pull out a knife and they slashed all our tires.
