<\/p>\nSir Jim Ratcliffe has revealed he will not be overseeing the construction of a new stadium for Manchester United as he closes in on a 25% stake in the club.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe is close to purchasing a stake in the club from the Glazers in a deal that will see him take control of football operations at Old Trafford. Should the deal go through, the billionaire will pump around \u00a3245million into the 13-time Premier League champions to help improve their infrastructure.<\/p>\n
However, while Ratcliffe is committed to improving United's training ground and other facilities, he's ruled out building a new stadium in place of Old Trafford, which is in dire need of attention.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail claim Ratcliffe is not interested in building a new \u00a31.5bn stadium in place of Old Trafford, but will instead opt to renovate the iconic ground, alongside improving their facilities.<\/p>\n
It has also been confirmed that the majority of Ratcliffe's money that he will put into the club in the short-term will be done to help improve Carrington, with around \u00a3150m to \u00a3200m earmarked for that development.<\/p>\n

While all the news around Ratcliffe and his bid to buy a stake in United continue to swirl around the club, on the pitch Erik ten Hag's team returned to winning ways on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 win over Luton Town.<\/p>\n
Having succumbed to a dramatic 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek, leaving their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages hanging by a thread, a win by any means necessary was just what United needed ahead of the international break.<\/p>\n
