Alex Pereira wants a fifth bout against Israel Adesanya after calling out his arch nemesis following his huge win at UFC 295.

Pereira, 36, became a two-division UFC champion on Saturday in just his eleventh professional MMA bout after knocking out Jiri Prochazka at Madison Square Garden, although the manner of his victory was viewed as controversial.

The Brazilian floored his rival with a flurry of blows before referee Marc Goddard waved off the contest, yet many fans believed the official had stepped in too early.

Regardless, the new light heavyweight king has eyed up his next fight, with Pereira eager to avenge his stunning defeat by Adesanya earlier this year.

The 36-year-old saw his dominance over the Kiwi fighter ended in emphatic fashion when Adesanya knocked him out at UFC 287 to reclaim his middleweight title.

Pereira opted to move up a division while Adesanya went onto lose his belt to Sean Strickland in Sydney before announcing a hiatus from the sport, but the Brazilian is hoping to tempt his old foe back into the Octagon.

‘Adesanya, come to daddy,’ Pereira told Joe Rogan after his big victory.

He later said he wants to ‘rescue’ Adesanya from his couch.

‘I’m not the type of guy to call people out but there’s a guy that back in the day [who] did some interviews and said I was a guy who was just going to stay in the bar,’ Pereira said.

‘That motivated me. He rescued me from a bar to be here today. This guy said he just wants to come back and fight in 2027. I think he’s a very talented guy. It’s a waste of talent so I want to rescue him too, to come here and fight.

‘I know that I’m not going to do what he did to me to and make me fight three times to fight him at middleweight. I know it’s a guy we have a lot of history. I want to make this fight happen. Adesanya, come to daddy.’

But Adesanya seemingly has no interest in dancing with Pereira again, posting a freeze-frame of the unconscious Brazilian with the caption: ‘lol rent free… I sleep good.’
