{"id":296811,"date":"2023-11-18T19:24:27","date_gmt":"2023-11-18T19:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=296811"},"modified":"2023-11-18T19:24:27","modified_gmt":"2023-11-18T19:24:27","slug":"martin-brundle-slams-max-verstappen-for-negative-las-vegas-comments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/racing\/f1\/martin-brundle-slams-max-verstappen-for-negative-las-vegas-comments\/","title":{"rendered":"Martin Brundle slams Max Verstappen for negative Las Vegas comments"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Martin Brundle slams Max Verstappen for his negative comments about the Las Vegas Grand Prix&#8230; as Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says the world champion &#8216;hates all the pomp and bulls*** in Formula One&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Sky Sports&#8217; Martin Brundle slams Max Verstappen for comments on Las Vegas\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Verstappen not impressed by events surrounding Grand Prix in Sin City\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The Dutchman will start second on the grid behind Ferrari&#8217;s Charles Leclerc\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Formula One world champion Max Verstappen has come under fire from Martin Brundle over his persistent complaints about the Las Vegas Grand Prix.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen has made his feelings clear in the lead-up to the race, criticising the event for putting more focus on the shows and concerts surrounding the Grand Prix rather than the race itself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sunday&#8217;s race is the first to be held in the iconic US city since 1982 and Sin City&#8217;s famous strip has been turned into a $500million track.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet, the pageantry hasn&#8217;t gone down with the Dutchman who has labelled the event\u00a0&#8217;99 percent spectacle and one percent sport&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>However, his comments have been blasted by <span>Sky Sports<\/span> Martin Brundle, who feels that Verstappen&#8217;s feelings should have been kept to himself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/18\/16\/77966151-12765473-image-a-2_1700324914563.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Max Verstappen has made his feelings clear about the Las Vegas Grand Prix and its events\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/18\/16\/77966165-12765473-image-m-4_1700324955774.jpg\" height=\"397\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Martin Brundle has slammed Verstappen&#8217;s comments and told him to stop being so negative\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/18\/16\/77963753-12765473-F1_s_first_event_in_Sin_City_since_1982_turned_the_iconic_strip_-a-1_1700324827250.jpg\" height=\"396\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Las Vegas&#8217; strip has been turned into a $500million race track for tomorrow&#8217;s Grand Prix\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If he doesn&#8217;t like it, I&#8217;m not sure he needs to say anything at all.&#8217; Brundle said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was a bit disappointed with that, because standing on a rostrum coming up and waving, a lot of adulation from the fans, it&#8217;s not the worst job in the world is it? It&#8217;s not that difficult. You&#8217;re not on shift work or down the mines or something. So I don&#8217;t understand why he feels so negative about it.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen complained about the star-studded open ceremony, miserably remarking the show as &#8216;skippable&#8217; and admitting he felt like a &#8216;clown&#8217; watching\u00a0 performances from Kylie Minogue, Will.i.am and John Legend.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked about his driver&#8217;s comments, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner came to the defence of Verstappen and stated he&#8217;s only here to win races.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/18\/16\/77966381-12765473-image-a-5_1700325546654.jpg\" height=\"429\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>There was a star-studded opening ceremony ahead of this weekend&#8217;s Las Vegas Grand Prix\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/18\/17\/77967595-12765473-image-a-17_1700328192360.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Christian Horner has admitted that Verstappen hates all one the pomp and bulls*** around F1<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;What you&#8217;ve got to understand is that Max is a racing driver,&#8217; Horner explained to <span>Sky Sports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He hates all the pomp and bulls*** that goes with being a Formula 1 driver. He just wants to drive the car. He doesn&#8217;t crave fame or adulation or anything like that.
