A former Liverpool\u00a0cult hero now looks unrecognisable in their new managerial role.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The player, who joined Liverpool in a \u00a37million deal back in 2008, has taken on a number of coaching roles and is now first-team manager at Serie C side\u00a0Pro Vercelli.<\/p>\n
He joined the Reds to fill the gap of departing full-back John Arne Riise, who joined Roma that summer, but only made 18 appearances in two years.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And, if you were struggling to name the player already, you won’t be helped by the tremendous difference in his physical appearance – namely with his new hairstyle.<\/p>\n
During his playing days, the defender rocked a short, buzz-cut style on pitch but now boasts a long head of hair.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The mystery man is, of course, former full-back Andrea Dossena.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His most notable contributions for the Reds, during his brief stint there, were undoubtedly his goals against Real Madrid and Manchester United.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In a substitute appearance against the Spanish giants, Dossena managed to find the back of the net during a famous 4-0 win.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He also managed to get on the scoresheet against the Red Devils, when Rafael Benitez’s side ran riot in a 4-1 victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dossena eventually left the Reds in 2010 when he joined Italian side Napoli, where he stayed for three seasons and made 83 appearances in total.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He ended up returning to the Premier League for a brief stint with Sunderland before later joining Leyton Orient.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After retiring from his playing career, he’s had managerial spells with Italian sides Crema,\u00a0Ravenna and\u00a0Renate, prior to his role with\u00a0Pro Vercelli.<\/p>\n
