He hasn&#8217;t appeared publicly since.<\/p>\n<p>The German is cared for by a team of medical staff and his wife Corinna at their Lake Geneva home, but little has been made public about his condition.<\/p>\n<p>Now, British racing legend Blundell &#8211; who competed against the German throughout the 1990s &#8211; has opened on Schumacher&#8217;s injuries and why his condition is &#8216;rightly guarded&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to OLBG, Blundell said:\u00a0&#8216;At the end of the day, what happened to him was incredibly difficult to take.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/22\/16\/69420581-12780587-Schumacher_pictured_in_2005_hasn_t_been_seen_in_public_since_a_s-a-1_1700672153944.jpg\" height=\"469\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Schumacher (pictured in 2005) hasn&#8217;t been seen in public since a skiing accident in 2013 left him in a medically induced coma, and he is cared for by a team of medical staff and his family<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/22\/17\/78120757-12780587-image-a-4_1700672749822.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>British Formula One legend Mark Blundell has provided an emotional reflection on the injuries suffered by Schumacher<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I don&#8217;t know where we are today with Michael&#8217;s health as he&#8217;s rightly guarded. He&#8217;s still around, and hopefully he understands what&#8217;s going on. That would be a plus. It&#8217;s very difficult.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Further in the interview,\u00a0Blundell expressed his regrets over Schumacher not being able to share anecdotes from his thrilling career.<\/p>\n<p>He continued: &#8216;Michael is a big loss for F1 as he had all of those titles under his belt, and we&#8217;re sadly not able to hear about those accolades and how he went about getting them. It&#8217;s such a shame we missed out on his insight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We also missed on how he could have supported his son and other up-and-coming drivers. That&#8217;s a huge loss.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Blundell and Schumacher shared the track multiple times in the 1990s and the Brit was quick to praise his counterpart&#8217;s &#8216;huge talent&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8216;I raced against Michael Schumacher on many occasions and he&#8217;s a huge talent and a great mind &#8211; not just inside the car, but also outside of it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He was always putting people together to find the advantage.
