Ted Kravitz and Lando Norris shared an awkward exchange during an interview ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in which the Sky Sports F1 pundit referenced his major shunt in Las Vegas.

Greeting the McLaren driver in the media pen, Kravitz said: “Luckily for you, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” referencing the 24-year-old’s crash on lap four of the race. This produced an awkward giggle from Norris, who replied: “Thank you… what am I meant to say to that?”

Norris had bottomed out when driving over a bump on lap four of the Las Vegas GP last weekend, sending him crashing into the outside wall at high speed before he cannoned off into the run-off area at Turn 12.

He was lucky not to collect team-mate Oscar Piastri in the wreck too with the rookie narrowly avoiding being struck by the out-of-control McLaren car on entry to the next corner.

Kravitz went on to ask Norris whether or not he can achieve a podium in Abu Dhabi this weekend, to which he responded: “Yeah, I mean I hope so.

“It’s always been a track that I have liked and enjoyed… still prefer the old track to the new one but yeah I normally always perform well here. The car has always been decent here.

“But obviously we’ve taken some steps forward this year so I think we can have a good one. I would love to end the season on a high and with a podium, so that’s our goal.”
