Some of Formula 1’s brightest stars celebrated the end of the season with a meal in what is becoming quite the tradition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Around half of the grid tucked in to a meal at the same restaurant they visited after the end of last season, when Lewis Hamilton took them out to celebrate Sebastian Vettel’s retirement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The season ended with Max Verstappen winning at Abu Dhabi once again but there was no sign of him and Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez, despite their attendance last year.<\/p>\n
This time 11 drivers were featured in the photograph, though it is unclear if the empty seat next to Hamilton was also occupied by a fellow racer at some point.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Alex Albon, George Russell, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, and Lance Stroll kicked back and relaxed together after the 22-race season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Abu Dhabi GP marked the end of the F1 season, which saw Red Bull and Max Verstappen steal the honours at a canter<\/p>\n
Posting the photo on Instagram Zhou wrote: ‘It\u2019s been a long season with some highs & many difficulties but thanks for @alfaromeostake everyone\u2019s hard work, we will bounce back next year!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zhou signed a contract extension with Alfa Romeo a couple of months ago and will hope to build on his two seasons in which he has finished 18th.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Most of the plates on the candle-lit table were empty, suggesting the drivers were satisfied with their sustenance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hamilton is understood to have picked up the bill last year, when all 20 drivers attended, but it is not clear who paid this time around.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
It has been the most repetitive season in recent memory, with Verstappen winning 19 of the 22 races on the calendar.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was pictured with his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, after his third consecutive title triumph.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sergio Perez, who finished second in the Drivers’ Championship, scooped up two race victories as well, meaning the only non-Red Bull driver to stand on the top step of the podium was Carlos Sainz in Singapore.<\/p>\n
