<\/p>\nA Manchester United influencer has issued a grovelling apology after he was slammed for chanting about poverty in Liverpool. <\/p>\n
YouTuber AngryGinge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was at Goodison Park on Sunday for United\u2019s 3-0 win over Everton. He uploaded footage to his matchday vlog of him and another United fan joining in with the chant 'Feed the Scousers' to the tune of the Band Aid charity track \u2018Do They Know It\u2019s Christmas\u2019. The chant is often directed at Liverpool and Everton supporters in the run-up to Christmas. <\/p>\n
Burtwistle, who has been heavily criticised, has now apologised for his actions with a message and video on X (formerly Twitter). The post read: \u201cGenuinely sorry for changing that chant. I didn\u2019t think about what it meant, and as someone who comes from that background, I feel your anger and can only apologise. Genuinely am disappointed in myself and am very sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the video, Burtwistle said: \u201cHi everyone. I have just seen the tweets that are going around about the chant I sang at the Everton game. I just wanted to say, first of all, I am so sorry I sang that chant. I just got caught up in the moment and didn\u2019t even think about what it actually meant. I have been told by some of my Scouse mates it is mocking poverty.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst of all, I just want to say I am so sorry I have sang it. I am genuinely so sorry I have offended you. I myself have come from that background, 100%.<\/p>\n
