Belgium&#8217;s decision to make the late substitute has raised questioning on social media among fans.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/00\/78622849-12830181-image-a-22_1701823425023.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Damaris Egurrola (centre left) scored the vital goal to send the Netherlands into the Nations League finals in the fifth minute of stoppage time<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/00\/78622807-12830181-image-a-23_1701823463058.jpg\" height=\"481\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>It denied England a spot in the finals despite their 6-0 win over Scotland, as well as a place for Team GB at next summer&#8217;s Olympics<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/00\/78623247-12830181-image-a-42_1701824012886.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/00\/78622873-12830181-Fans_have_criticised_Belgium_who_lost_4_0_to_the_Dutch_for_repla-m-41_1701824003959.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Fans have criticised Belgium &#8211; who lost 4-0 to the Dutch &#8211; for replacing starting keeper Nicky Evrard (right) in stoppage time two minutes before Diede Lemy (left) conceded<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>One fan wrote in all capital letters: &#8216;Belgium subbed their goalkeeper right before the goal what the f***.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Another user tweeted: &#8216;Tell me this just wasn&#8217;t Belgium just letting them have the fourth &amp; important goal by subbing their keeper in the last few minutes then, I dare you.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>One England fan said they &#8216;knew&#8217; the Lionesses were &#8216;done&#8217; when Belgium subbed their goalkeeper.<\/p>\n<p>Another person commented: &#8216;I wonder why Belgium change goalkeeper.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>However, one user posted that the change was due to starting keeper Evrard coming off with an injury.<\/p>\n<p>They wrote: &#8216;Rough for Belgium. Nicky Evrard was subbed out in injury time because she was hurt. The Netherlands then go and immediately score on the new keeper in the 95&#8242; minute.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Netherlands&#8217; 4-0 victory meant England&#8217;s 6-0 win over Scotland &#8211; courtesy of a Lauren James brace and goals from Alex\u00a0Greenwood, Beth Mead, Fran Kirby and Lucy Bronze &#8211; was not enough for the Lionesses.<\/p>\n<p>England did not lose the chance of Olympic qualification here. I think we delivered tonight. The team showed lots of character.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018When Lucy scored that goal I thought \u201cwe can get this\u201d, but that\u2019s football. The Netherlands scored a late goal and that\u2019s how close it was. We were waiting, those were long minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We really thought we got it.
